Professional Training Center

Molly and Me Counseling and Training Center, PLLC is the first play therapy training center in Idaho, established in 2007.  We are an APT Approved Provider (#08-222), through the Association for Play Therapy.   All trainings received through the training center are considered CONTACT Play Therapy Training Hours and may be used toward your RPT/RPT-S certification application or for renewal purposes.  The training center was created as an avenue for professionals to learn more about play therapy to enhance their skills when working with children.  It has become a place where not only professionals can come and learn, but parents may benefit from learning more about the powers of play.  All training sessions that are provided will not only be informative and educational, but experiential and interactive.  Come prepared to learn effective play therapy techniques, which you may walk out and use with your clients the next day. Cancellations Policy

Registration cancellations are submitted to Molly and Me Counseling and Training Center in writing.
• A $50 administrative charge, will be refunded only if the request is postmarked 30 days prior to the event.
• Because registrations for events generate contractual and non-refundable guarantees between Molly and Me and other parties, registration refunds will neither be made after January 1st, 2019 nor to parties who register but do not attend.
• Registrations may be transferred to another person, who has not previously registered, without penalty only if original registrant notifies Molly and Me.
• Molly and Me reserves the right to cancel this conference in the event of unforeseen circumstances. If such occurs, Molly and Me will attempt to notify registrants at least 10 calendar days prior to the conference and refund all registration fees. In all instances, the liability of Molly and Me is limited to refunding such fees.

 

Introduction to Sand trays in Play Therapy

Description:
This training is for therapists who are new at using sand trays in the play therapy room. You will learn a basic understanding of sand tray history and theory. You will learn the necessary materials and supplies required to set up, conduct and process a sand tray in the context of a play therapy session. This will be a experiential training process. Both directive and non-directive sand trays will be demonstrated and participants will have an opportunity to experience creating individual and group sand trays.
Learning Objectives:

1. Understand the history and theory of using sand trays in play therapy
2. Describe how to set up, conduct and process a sand tray as part of a play therapy session
3. Identify common themes in the sand tray process
4. Describe sand tray interventions to incorporate into play therapy with individuals, families, groups and in school settings

Molly Gratton, LCSW, RPT-S is a licensed clinical social worker and a registered play therapist/supervisor.  She is a registered clinical supervisor through the State of Idaho.  Molly has served on the board of directors for the Idaho Play Therapy Association  since July 2008.  She served as the President from July 2009 through June 2015 and is currently serving on the board as President Elect.  She is the founder and owner of Molly and Me Counseling and Training Center.  With over 20 years of experience helping children and their families deal with issues such as trauma, attachment disorders, loss and grief, divorce, behavioral problems, depression and anxiety, Molly is dedicated to enhancing and empowering the lives of the people with whom she works. Molly provides counseling services to children, adolescents and families as well as play therapy training and supervision services.

$120.00 for registration received before June 30, 2018

Description:
This training is designed for the new play therapist in an agency or private practice setting who is interested in learning more about play therapy interventions and techniques. We will cover the basic history and theoretical concepts specific to both directive and non-directive play therapy. Participants will be introduced to the toys and materials needed to set up a play therapy room. The application of play therapy to various populations, limit setting and an exploration of cultural sensitivity will also be discussed. Participants will have an opportunity to participate in experiential activities so come ready to play.
